In Ulaanbaatar, a gas truck exploded near a local market, leading to an immediate and widespread fire that engulfed nearby buildings. Within minutes, 20 cars in the vicinity of the accident were consumed by flames. Residents living near the explosion’s epicenter were swiftly evacuated as a precaution.
Search efforts for missing individuals are ongoing, and authorities are still working to confirm the exact number of casualties and injuries. To date, at least 6 fatalities and 10 injuries requiring hospitalization for burns have been reported. The fire has since been contained.
