Volodymyr Zelenskyy has once again urged the US Congress to approve funding for aid to Ukraine as soon as possible. He explained that its capabilities on the battlefield depend on this.
According to Zelenskyy, as long as Ukraine does not know that it has constant support from the USA, “we will stay where we are now”. He added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces can conduct limited attacks at the moment, but “to dislodge them (the Russians), we need more weapons,” the head of state emphasized.
Zelenskyy said that due to controversies in Congress, Ukraine has missed half a year. “We cannot waste any more time. Ukraine cannot become a subject of politics between parties,” Zelenskyy assured.
The president believes that critics of aid to Ukraine do not understand the stakes in a full-scale war: “If Ukraine falls, Putin will divide the world into Russia’s friends and enemies.”
According to Zelenskyy, Russia’s attacks on the Ukrainian energy system are a big problem. He added that Ukraine could stop Russian attacks on the energy system by making Russia pay the same price, and “when Russia stops these steps, we will also stop”.
“If there is no air defense to protect our energy system, and the Russians are attacking it, my question is: why can’t we answer them? Let their society learn to live without gasoline, let them learn to live without diesel, let them learn to live without electricity. This is fair,” says Zelenskyy.
