Losses in manpower and equipment have been calculated in the UK.
Over the course of 26 months of a full-scale invasion, the Russian army lost almost half a million of its troops killed and wounded in Ukraine. This was stated by the British Minister for the Armed Forces Leo Docherty, who was quoted by the UK Defense Journal. Docherty gave these estimates in response to a question from opposition Labor MP John Healey, who asked for detailed department estimates of Russian losses in Ukraine, both the regular army and private military companies.
“We estimate that about 450,000 Russian troops have been killed or wounded, and tens of thousands more have deserted since the beginning of the conflict,” Docherty said.
The British minister says that there is no exact data on the number of deaths among mercenaries of Russian private military companies.
“Also, according to our estimates, since the beginning of the conflict, more than 110,000 units of Russian armored vehicles, including about 3,000 main battle tanks, 109 aircraft, 136 helicopters, 346 drones, 23 vessels of various classes and more than 1,500 artillery systems of various types,” – said the minister.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia lost 466,150 military personnel in the war against Ukraine.
