About it the commander of the ground forces of the AFU Alexander Pavlyuk.
He noted that in the near future the Russian command would throw all the equipment from the military arsenal into the battle to check the Ukrainian troops, who are just suffering from a shortage of supplies. In his opinion, the occupiers are trying to buy time until military aid supplies from the US are fully utilized at the front.
“Russia knows that if we get enough weapons within a month or two, the situation could turn against it,” the commander of the AFU ground forces said in an interview with The Economist.
Oleksandr Pavlyuk believes that the occupiers will continue to attack eastern Ukraine near Luhansk and Donetsk. At the same time, he noted that the loss of Chasov Yar in the Donetsk Region was not critical for Ukraine.
Pavlyuk does not rule out that the occupiers will expand the geography of attacks and even try to seize Kyiv.
“Defense of Kyiv remains one of our main tasks, no matter how hard it is in the east. This is the heart of Ukraine, and we know that the key role the defense of the capital will play in the future,” he said.
