Anti-drone net installed in central Berlin on Ukraine’s Independence Day

Paris' iconic Eiffel Tower was illuminated in blue and yellow on Monday to mark the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for his message marking Ukraine’s Independence Day, praising Türkiye’s support for the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Night shots show the landmarks glowing in the colours of the Ukrainian flag, with people photographing the Parliament and boats passing along the River Thames.

The showcase comes as the Russia-Ukraine war continues and Kyiv highlights the growing role of unmanned warfare.
