State Duma deputy Andrei Gurulev has said that the death penalty should be introduced in Russia to fight “internal enemies”. He said this on the air of Russian TV.

As an example, he cited sabotage on railroads. According to him, there are more than 70 cases of arson of relay boxes.

“Just look at how it all happens in the Republic of Belarus. There, the first thing is the death penalty. Second, there, when attempting to set fire to a relay box, two people were just shot dead on the spot. Without publicizing it, word of mouth spread all over Belarus. There are no more arson fires of relay boxes in Belarus. The problem has been solved,” he said.
