On the first day of the NATO summit in Ankara, Rutte unveils a wave of defense contracts worth billions of euros
At the heart of the dispute is how to spend the flood of defense money Europe is pouring into rearmament as it races to deter Russia and also fulfills Donald Trump’s pressure for the continent to do more to defend itself.
The "Call to Action," announced during NATO's first-ever Defense Industry Forum alongside its summit in Ankara, urges commercial financial institutions to increase lending and equity investments in military and security production.
Among them was a multinational initiative on defence-critical raw materials involving 12 Nato member states: Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Turkey.
