Miliband set for Rubio meeting amid Trump fury at his appointment as Foreign Secretary

Marco Rubio will meet with Russia's foreign minister on Thursday after a series of meetings with world leaders in Manila.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio are scheduled to meet Thursday on the sidelines of the ASEAN summit in the Philippines to discuss Ukraine peace negotiations and other bilateral issues.

Rubio was subsequently asked about his plans for the meeting.

After the meeting, Rubio described the recent clash between Beijing and Manila over the Second Thomas Shoal as very negative and benefiting no one.
