The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has said that it has stopped a “smuggling channel” for the supply of explosives to Russia from Ukraine via transit through EU countries. RIA Novosti propagandists reported this.

Security forces said they discovered 27 explosive devices hidden in “Orthodox icons and church utensils” while inspecting a car at a checkpoint in the Pskov region.

“In the attachments of icons was found the plastic explosive substance of increased power – hexogen. The power of this explosive is one and a half times the power of TNT. The mass of the seized explosive is enough to blow up a five-story apartment building,” said the head of the ECC of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Pskov region.
