G7 leaders agree to increase sanctions on Russian energy
Carney made the announcement during a meeting at the G7 summit with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Canada has imposed restrictions on over 3,400 individuals and entities and more than 600 vessels this year in an effort to hold Russia accountable for its aggression against Ukraine.
The package will target 162 individuals, entities and vessels — all assets of the Russian war machine.
The company was the subject of a Reuters special reporton how it helped facilitate the trade of tens of billions of dollars of Iranian and Russian oil, in a list of companies and individuals sanctioned.
