Eastern areas of Scotland most likely to have clear skies during partial eclipse
Zeiler has chased total solar eclipses since 1991 and has spent more than two decades creating detailed maps that show the narrow path where the Moon's umbral shadow will completely block the Sun.
The most dramatic partial solar eclipse in nearly three decades will be visible across the UK this week.
A total eclipse of the sun will miss Ireland by only a couple of hundred kilometres, and will be fully visible in parts of Portugal and northern Spain.
On August 12, the moon will pass in front of the sun, completely obscuring it in a solar eclipse.
