Customs officers checked the baggage of a 38-year-old German citizen who arrived in Russia through transit from Germany through Hamburg. The examination showed the presence of a 20-gram pack of marmalade with a share of the psychoactive component THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). In Russia, such a component is considered narcotic.

The man tried to prove to the representatives of power that he eats such bears before departure in order to sleep in peace during the trip. However, the police, despite this argument, did not believe him, and a criminal case was initiated against the traveler. He faces three to seven years of imprisonment for smuggling drugs across the border. The man has been detained.

It should be noted that in 2022, American basketball player Brittney Griner was detained at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport in an attempt to transport vape juice, which contained cannabis oil. Later, she was exchanged for Russian Viktor Bout, who was serving a life sentence in the USA for arms trafficking and support of terrorism.
