The Russian invaders try to attract young people of Belarus to their military academies by organizing “open days” in various regional centers of the country.
“Representatives of the Russian armed forces hold so-called ‘open days’ in the district centers of the Republic of Belarus, where Belarusian citizens are offered to study to become officers in Russian military universities.” – the Center for National Resistance reports.
Due to high losses in the war, the Russian Federation is experiencing an extreme shortage of junior officers. Russia seeks to compensate for the shortage of officers by recruiting citizens from other states, including Belarus.
It was earlier reported that the regime of dictator Aliaksandr Lukashenka supported Russia in the deportation of Ukrainian children. As a response, the United States imposed sanctions against Belarus for assisting Russia and for participating in the deportation of Ukrainian children.
