Trump wants to give away parts of Yosemite to developer

In July, the president signed orders slashing two Utah national monuments by more than 90 percent, and this month his administration moved to end a rule that barred logging and road-building in national forests.

The proposal would provide access to Nevada-based Kingsbarn Realty Capital's 83-acre Hazel Green property, located just outside the park's western boundary, via a short roadway connected to the existing park network.

The current access road to the land, which Kingsbarn bought in 2024, is more than 10 miles (16km) from the nearest park entrance and would require travelers to take a longer, indirect route to reach popular park attractions.
