Two Frankfurt Airport Workers Die After Rare Mosquito-Borne 'Airport Malaria' Outbreak Sickens Six Staff
Airport officials had initially reported one death among six infected employees.
A total of six male staff members working in different roles and locations across Germany's busiest aviation hub were infected in the outbreak, where the four surviving workers were taken to hospital and are currently recovering.
Mosquitos brought in on an aircraft are thought to have caused the infections.
Traps have been installed at the airport and mosquitoes captured will be analysed in a laboratory to determine their species and origin.
