US approves new treatment for pancreatic cancer
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Wednesday approved Revolution Medicines’ targeted drug for adults with metastatic pancreatic cancer who have received prior treatment or cannot receive combination chemotherapy.
Regulators gave expedited authorization to the novel pill, called daraxonrasib, which blocks a mutated protein driving tumor growth in over 90% of pancreatic cancer cases, a scientific approach that had previously eluded pharmaceutical researchers for decades.
The once-daily pill, called daraxonrasib and manufactured by Revolution Medicines, will be sold under the brand name Rasonque.
