Usain Bolt's 100m world record beaten, not by a human but a Chinese robot
It took down Usain Bolt’s record in the heats on Saturday, clocking a 9.39-second dash and shaving 0.19 seconds off the Jamaican superstar’s time, which remains unbeaten by humans since 2009.
The second World Humanoid Robot Games opened in Beijing on Saturday evening, with 2,056 robots from 666 teams representing 16 countries, set to compete in 51 events through Wednesday.
The competition between humans and machines turned into a genuine showdown, when a robot broke legendary sprinter Usain Bolt’s historic 100-meter record.
In 2009, Usain Bolt set the men’s 100-meter dash world record of 9.58 seconds at the World Championships in Athletics in Berlin.
