Supreme Court Removes Hurdle to Trump Directive on Mail Voting
The U.S. Postal Service has unveiled new requirements for mail ballots less than two weeks before some states begin sending them, but the regulation will take effect only if the Supreme Court allows President Donald Trump's order restricting voting by mail to go forward.
The court also granted a similar application filed by Alabama and 11 other states.
The high court handed down three decisions Thursday, including United States v Hemani where the court ruled 9-0 to limit a federal ban on drug users' Second Amendment right to own firearms.
The Supreme Court granted the administration's request to temporarily lift a lower-court injunction that had blocked portions of Trump's March executive order on election integrity.
