As Russian missiles rain down on Kyiv, casualties mount and the mood darkens

With fighting between Russia and Ukraine largely stalled on the front lines, the air war between them has intensified.

On Thursday, they killed 15 people in Kyiv, three in the western city of Zhytomyr and injured 40 at a border crossing between Odesa and Moldova.

Residents of Kyiv’s Solomianskyi district spent Thursday assessing the damage after a Russian overnight barrage of ballistic and cruise missiles and drones tore through a residential area.

Russia has unleashed another devastating wave of attacks on Kyiv, with powerful blasts reported across the Ukrainian capital as the death toll continues to rise.
