Trump approval rating falls to 33%, lowest of his presidency, poll finds
Energy shock and Iran stalemate threaten Trump’s political fortunes heading into 2026
The August 14-17 Reuters/Ipsos poll found 33 percent of respondents approved of Trump's performance—the lowest level seen over his two terms in the Oval Office—while 64 percent disapproved.
After returning to the White House last year with just under half the country approving of his presidency, Trump’s popularity this year took a hit after he ordered strikes on Iran alongside US ally Israel.
The findings are part of a poll conducted by Focaldata for the Financial Times and gauged Americans’ mood about Republican control of Washington as the midterms rapidly approach.
