Thailand vows tighter gun laws after school shooting leaves eight dead

Families retrieve bodies after a 14-year-old killed at least 7 in a shooting outside Bangkok

The 14-year-old opened fire at around 10am on Friday at Debsirin Nonthaburi School in Nonthaburi province northwest of the Thai capital before apparently taking his own life.

Most of those wounded were between 12 and 14 years old.

In all, nine people have been killed and another 23 wounded, in Thailand's worst mass shooting since 2022, which has reignited debate over firearms control in Southeast Asia's largest gun-owning nation.
