The president is continuing his attacks on the US central bank’s independence after being dealt a significant legal setback

The new letter seeks to satisfy those requirements in what remains an unprecedented effort to fire a sitting Federal Reserve governor.

President Trump is reportedly renewing his effort to boot Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook from her position, despite the Supreme Court thwarting his earlier attempt in June.

Those are the same allegations Trump and his allies floated when he first moved to fire Cook from the central bank last year.
