Congressman Chuck Edwards drops re-election bid after ethics investigation
Republican Representative Chuck Edwards has dropped his bid for re-election amid sexual harassment allegations, hours before a separate deadline looms for Representative Max Miller to withdraw over domestic abuse claims.
Republican congressman Chuck Edwards has dropped his bid for reelection two days after the House Ethics Committee recommended he be censured for unprofessional and inappropriate conduct toward two young female aides in his office.
The bipartisan congressional ethics panel recommended on Monday that Edwards face censure over its findings.
Edwards, 65, had faced mounting pressure over his conduct with two female staffers.
