Trump administration revokes visa of Brazil's ambassador to US in spat with Lula
It comes after the Brazilian government refused to grant visas for two US state department officials who wanted to visit Brazil at the end of July.
Brazil has withheld approval for Perez, who currently serves as Republican speaker of the Florida House of Representatives and is a close ally of Secretary of State Marco Rubio, preventing him from taking up the post.
The State Department has canceled the visa of the Brazilian ambassador in Washington, deepening a diplomatic crisis between the two countries.
