Prosecutors Drop Case Against Olympic Canoeist Charged With Vandalizing Reflecting Pool

Jeanine Pirro’s office blames Trump’s Department of Interior after she and the president publicly raged against David Hearn

Hearn was indicted July 2 on one count of felony destruction of property.

The Justice Department is admitting that a President Donald Trump-prompted $14 million renovation on the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington, DC, was flawed, and is dropping the criminal case against former Olympian David Hearn that accused him of damaging the pool, according to a new court filing from DC US Attorney Jeanine Pirro.

Hearn, a three-time U.S. Olympic canoeist, was indicted earlier this year after authorities alleged he had pulled up sections of the Reflecting Pool's newly installed blue liner during a June visit to the National Mall.
