Trump announces Board of Peace agreement for Hamas to disarm in Gaza
The announcement marks the first major foreign policy victory for the Board of Peace, framing the deal as a transformative breakthrough toward regional stability and a key milestone in the administration's broader 20-Point Plan.
But Hamas has yet to approve the deal, and Israeli officials and Western diplomats remain deeply skeptical that the group will follow through on its commitments.
He called the agreement "a critical step towards Gaza finally being governed by a new Palestinian government".
Trump framed the disarmament as part of the ceasefire deal he brokered in October to end Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, which has killed more than 73,000 Palestinians and devastated the Palestinian enclave.
