Zinedine Zidane has been appointed as France’s new head coach, replacing Didier Deschamps at the helm of the team he led to glory as arguably its greatest ever player.

Zidane’s return to the France setup should be well received by all involved with the national team.

Zidane had been out of a managerial post since leaving Real Madrid, where he won three Champions League and two La Liga titles, in 2021.
