Trump Administration Urges Supreme Court to Allow New Restrictions on Mail Ballots

The Trump administration asked the Supreme Court on Monday to let the president's executive order restricting mail-in voting take effect while lawsuits play out, escalating a fight over election rules just 99 days before the November midterms.
Trump’s order would give the US Postal Service and the Department of Homeland Security new roles in screening state voter rolls for potential non-citizen voters.
The administration filed the emergency application to the justices after a federal appeals court on Saturday blocked key parts of his executive order.
