Sam Neill died of pneumonia, manager confirms

Neill died in Sydney on Monday at the age of 78, three months after announcing he was cancer-free following treatment for stage three angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, a rare type of blood cancer.

The Northern Ireland-born New Zealand actor, best known for playing Dr Alan Grant in the blockbuster franchise, died aged 78 in Sydney, Australia, on Monday.

Neill's long-time agent Philip Grenz released a statement on Thursday about the cause of death after speaking to the actor's family and due to what he said were "inaccurate and outright falsehoods" in the media.
