Outbreak of diarrhea caused by parasite jumps to more than 3,000 cases

Nearly 3,000 cases reported across 32 states

Michigan reported more than 1,000 new cases of cyclosporiasis since Friday.

The question comes as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) investigates hundreds of confirmed cases of cyclosporiasis in at least 31 states.

The outbreak has resulted in at least 86 hospitalizations, though no deaths have been reported
