Trump refuses to sign housing bill and bashes his party in spat over voter ID: ‘Title of DUMB will revert to Republicans’
A major bipartisan housing bill that President Trump has dismissed as a “yawn” appears set to become law without his signature late tonight, weeks after he surprised congressional Republicans by suddenly canceling his plans to sign it.
But the housing affordability bill, dubbed the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, is nevertheless set to become law automatically on Saturday — unless Trump vetoes it.
The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act—which aims to address the United States' housing affordability crisis—was passed by both the House and the Senate with overwhelming support in June—a surprising feat for a deeply divided legislature.
