Cuba Suffers National Blackout as US Fuel Blockade Drags On
An islandwide blackout has hit Cuba as fuel reserves dwindle and its electric grid continues to crumble
The outage affected roughly 10 million people before limited electricity service was restored in some areas.
The nationwide outage and slow recovery are more bad news for Cubans already exhausted from rolling blackouts that make it impossible for many to work or sleep in the Caribbean summer heat.
The blackout is the eighth on the island of 9.6 million people since late 2024.
