Colombia defeat Ghana 1-0 to reach World Cup last 16

Colombia ​had largely flown under the radar at the tournament, despite going undefeated against Portugal, Uzbekistan and DR Congo to top Group K.

They remained unbeaten, winning two matches and drawing against Portugal while consistently producing entertaining, attacking football.

Even if they couldn’t find another goal that their superiority clearly warranted, Colombia were deserved winners and look more than capable of at least matching their previous best result at the 2014 World Cup when they reached the last eight.

Colombia will now face Switzerland in the next round.
