Slick Switzerland sweep past Algeria into FIFA World Cup last 16

Breel Embolo and Dan Ndoye were on target for Switzerland, who dominated throughout to set up a clash with Colombia or Ghana.

The Swiss team faced Algeria on Friday morning at the BC Place stadium in Vancouver and came out on top with a solid 2-0 victory, booking their place in the Round of 16.

They will now face the winner of Friday’s clash between Colombia and Ghana in a bid to reach the quarter-finals for the first time since their home tournament in 1954.

Johan Manzambi and Switzerland’s progress are on the same trajectory; they’ve both started slowly before pouncing.
