Pete Buttigieg's family was targeted by a CPS hoax: Here are 5 things to know
The incident unfolded at Buttigieg’s home in Traverse City, Michigan, where a Michigan State Police officer and a child protective services worker arrived following an anonymous tip alleging he posed a danger to his four-year-old twins.
The former transportation secretary and Indiana mayor was not allowed to have contact with his twins for 24 hours as the investigation unfolded.
Authorities arranged forensic interviews for his twins and instructed Buttigieg not to be alone with them until the interviews were complete.
He described the 24-hour ordeal as “among the darkest hours of my life.”
