British PM vows to fight for leadership
Pressure is mounting on UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer as internal Labour tensions intensify following poor local election results and growing speculation about a possible leadership challenge.
British prime minister Keir Starmer faces pressure to set out plans to quit Downing Street over the weekend after Andy Burnham stormed to victory in the Makerfield byelection.
One of the least popular Prime Ministers in British history, his Labour Party lost nearly 1500 seats in local elections last month.
That would leave Labour relying on support from other parties to form a viable government.
