US unveils Qatar-gifted jet set to replace decades-old aircraft to ferry the President

White House officials bade farewell on Thursday to one of the two jets that have been used to transport US presidents for more than 30 years.

US Chief of Protocol Monica Crowley also posted a photograph of the same plane on the tarmac at Joint Base Andrews near Washington.

President Donald Trump unveiled a new Air Force One aircraft Friday during a private hangar tour, debuting the controversial Boeing 747 of Qatar.

President Trump became the last president to fly aboard one of the heavily customized Boeing 747-200s operating as Air Force One, as it made its final flight to bring the commander in chief back from Europe earlier this week.
