Putin touts ‘just multipolar world’ as Moscow seeks stronger ASEAN business role

The gathering in Kazan, the capital of Russia’s Tatarstan republic, from Wednesday to Thursday marked 35 years of ties between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and Russia.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday, called for deeper cooperation between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and Russia, identifying peace and security, economic engagement, and people-to-people exchanges as the three key priorities that should guide the partnership in the years ahead.

Putin also highlighted the role of the Joint Russia-Philippine Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, an intergovernmental mechanism established in 2015 to expand bilateral trade, investments, and economic partnerships, particularly in energy, food security, and business cooperation.
