Zelenskyy to attend Ramstein meeting, NATO secretary general confirms
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday held a bilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Évian, France.
His intervention came as Western leaders gathered to assess the next stage of assistance for Ukraine, with attention focused on whether Washington’s stance on the conflict is shifting.
European G7 countries and the US are prepared to license Ukraine-based companies to build long-range missiles and air defence systems that are only made elsewhere and supplied to the Ukrainian military from dwindling stocks.
The two leaders have spoken on phone several times since Modi’s maiden visit to Ukraine in August 2024 and a meeting on the margins of the UN General Assembly in September the same year, and this was their first face-to-face encounter after a long gap.
