Trump’s war secretary Hegseth tears into European allies over Nato spending
Brussels: US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth lashed out at NATO allies on Thursday, announcing a six-month Pentagon review of American forces in Europe that will depend on how fast they take responsibility for their own security.
NATO's secretary general went to great lengths to cast a positive light on the alliance ahead of a ministers' meeting.
The Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) programme, a US-NATO initiative under which European NATO allies purchase American weapons for Ukraine, is showing progress and laying the groundwork for peace.
This comes on the back of a G7 summit deemed a success, as Trump has signalled backing Ukraine against Russia.
