Telegram challenges temporary restrictions in India over medical entrance exam
Lawyers for the company mentioned the matter before the Delhi High Court on Wednesday, legal website Live Law reported.
The Delhi High Court on Wednesday sought responses from the Centre and other authorities on a plea filed by messaging platform Telegram challenging the government's decision to block the app until June 22, a day after the NEET re-examination scheduled for June 21.
The extraordinary order came into effect on Tuesday in an attempt to curb channels claiming to have obtained examination papers in advance, but has prompted a debate over the use of such blanket bans.
The move comes amid concerns over the misuse of digital platforms for sharing leaked examination material.
