SpaceX to Buy Cursor for $60 Billion
SpaceX will move forward with its $60 billion acquisition of artificial intelligence startup Cursor as Elon Musk’s space exploration and AI company seeks a competitive edge against rivals Anthropic and OpenAI after its Wall Street debut last week.
SpaceX's acquisition announcement comes just days after it made its public market debut with a record breaking IPO.
The move comes after SpaceX joined New York's tech-focused Nasdaq stock exchange on Friday in the biggest ever listing, valuing it at more than $2tn and raising $85.7bn.
The transaction will see Anysphere merge into SpaceX's corporate structure, with the Cursor maker operating as a wholly owned subsidiary following the deal's close.
