Woman dies after being thrown from bridge without secured bungee cord in Brazil
Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas was killed in front of horrified witnesses at the Ponte do Esqueleto, an abandoned railway bridge in Limeira, São Paulo, after workers launched her from a 40-metre drop in a “Superman” pose.
A 21-year-old woman lost her life while bungee jumping in Brazil, after the crew allegedly “forgot” to attach the safety rope before she was plunged from the bridge.
The incident took place in Limeira, São Paulo, and has raised serious questions about safety protocols at extreme sports attractions.
Video footage shows three men carrying her to the jump platform and lowering her over the edge while the safety rope remained on the ground.
