A federal judge in Virginia agreed to indefinitely block the Justice Department’s “anti-weaponization” fund after previously agreeing to temporarily block any payments.
A US federal judge agreed on Friday to extend a court-ordered block on the Trump administration’s creation and operation of a $1.8bn settlement fund for compensating people who claim to be victims of a weaponized government.
The administration has dropped the idea for the $1.776 billion fund after facing harsh criticism from Democrats and some Republicans.
