CBS News Doesn’t Renew ‘60 Minutes’ Correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi’s Contract
Liberal critics of Weiss and Paramount CEO David Ellison have accused them of bending the knee to President Donald Trump and trying to curry favor with his administration.
CBS News declined to renew its contract with the “60 Minutes” correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi, six months after her segment on torture in Salvadoran prisons was pulled off the air abruptly by the news division’s editor in chief, Bari Weiss.
Journalist Sharon Alfonsi is departing “60 Minutes,” after criticizing CBS News leadership under its new corporate owner Paramount.
CBS News and Alfonsi did not immediately respond to NBC News’ requests for comment on the matter.
