Finnish divers recover remaining 2 bodies of Italians from underwater cave in Maldives

The group included instructor Gianluca Benedetti; Monica Montefalcone, an associate professor of ecology at the University of Genoa; her daughter Giorgia Sommacal; marine biologist Federico Gualtieri; and researcher Muriel Oddenino.

The bodies of all four missing divers were found ‘pretty much together’ deep inside the third segment of an underwater cave

Five people died last Thursday, and three bodies had already been recovered in a complex recovery operation involving Maldivian and international dive teams.

The bodies were located on Monday as searches resumed after a suspension following the death of a local military diver during a perilous retrieval attempt.
