Mark Fuhrman, key detective in OJ Simpson case, dies from throat cancer
A white police officer in Connecticut who fatally shot a Black man suffering a mental health crisis has been charged with manslaughter after a state investigation found he failed to de-escalate the confrontation.
Fuhrman was one of the first two police detectives sent to investigate the 1994 killings of Simpson’s ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ronald Goldman, in Los Angeles.
Fuhrman’s death was confirmed Monday by Lynette Acebedo, the chief deputy coroner in Kootenai County, Idaho.
Fuhrman became one of the most recognizable law enforcement figures in the United States during the 1995 O.J. Simpson murder trial, where he testified about discovering a bloody glove at Simpson’s Brentwood estate.
