Ukrainian troops attacked Russian air defenses in occupied Crimea overnight.
According to a report by the AFU General Staff, a missile strike was launched against three divisions of S-300 and S-400 air defense systems located near Belbek and Sevastopol. “It was confirmed to hit the target areas,” the report said.
As a result of the attack, two radars of S-300 complexes and one radar of S-400 were destroyed. Information on the third radar is being clarified. In addition, the detonation of ammunition began in all three areas where air defense missile divisions were deployed.
The S-300 and S-400 consist of a command post with a detection radar, to which up to six surface-to-air missile systems are linked. Each SAM system includes launchers, guided missiles, reconnaissance, and guidance equipment.
The attack was another Ukrainian strike against Russian troops and infrastructure on the peninsula. In recent months, the AFU has repeatedly used ATACMS missiles, drones, and marine drones to hit targets in Crimea.
