Germany will also set up a European assembly line for Patriot missiles, which will be used to send to Ukraine and to protect the skies over Europe.
Two complexes are already in Ukraine, the third one Germany has promised but has not handed over yet. Berlin has not yet made a final decision on the fourth Patriot.
The German government is considering sending a fourth Patriot air defense battery to Ukraine, the Bloomberg news agency reported on June 7, citing unnamed sources familiar with the situation.
The battery includes 4-8 launchers, a propulsion system, a radar station, and a fire control center.
“According to people familiar with the situation who spoke on condition of anonymity, the Patriot battery will be in addition to the three that Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s government has already promised, including most recently in April.” According to them, Germany has not yet made a final decision”, – stated in the material.
Kiev has urged its partners to provide additional air defenses as Russia intensifies strikes on Ukrainian settlements and infrastructure.
In addition, a European assembly line for Patriot missiles will appear in Germany, with the support of the Netherlands.
“The U.S. manufacturer has authorized the construction of Patriot in Europe. This will speed up production,” Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren said.
