Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that the USA should allow Ukraine to use long-range ATACMS missiles to hit military facilities on the territory of Russia.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has thanked US President Joe Biden for allowing Ukraine to use US weapons for strikes on the territory of Russia. However, he believes that restrictions on the use of long-range systems such as ATACMS missiles should be lifted.

Zelenskyy said that the current authorizations are not enough: “Is this (authorization) enough? No. Why? Because I gave you the example of airfields from which Russia is constantly firing, quietly knowing that Ukraine will not fire back because it does not have the appropriate systems and permits.”

The president also emphasized that Russia continues to use long-range artillery and some 300 weapons systems with tens of thousands of missiles on its side of the border to attack Ukraine.

He emphasized the problem with restrictions on the use of Western weapons, explaining, “So, they have these weapons there and they don’t put them away because they know Ukraine can’t target them with Western weapons even if they shoot against us.”
